Banks in the Maldives do not accept old, torn and crumpled bills, as they do in almost every country in the world. Therefore, the Maldives is wary of such money.
In general, if you pay in dollars on the Thoddoo, you’ll get change in rufiyaa. But in our guest house you can pay in dollars or euros, and get change if you want both in rufiyaa and dollars.
